COMMit – A CorpComm COMMit-ment

We, at TAFE Corporate Communications, have launched a new single window contact on TAFE Channel, called COMMit!

COMMit will serve as a one stop portal for other departments to get in touch with us and place requests.

Since the corporate communications department is the custodian of the corporate brand, our work is concerned with all internal and external stakeholders. We handle a number of assignments, and hence, COMMit gives us a very systematic approach to work.

It will improve exchange and flow of information from the Corporate Communications to other Departments, and vice versa. Also, it will increase efficiency of communication, and also save time.

Through COMMit, a system of uniform and consistent communication can be established, as the Corp Comm communications follow the Corporate Identity Program.

We would sincerely like to thank the E-Comm team: P R Kannan, K Gopalakrishnan, P Hemanand, M Dinesh, K M Nisha for putting our ideas into execution.

TAFE in the Last Eight at SAP F15 Cricket Cup

Two matches on, with one massive win against Empee and an otherwise avoidable loss against Ashok Leyland, TAFE enters the quarterfinals in the tournament.

The match against Empee was a cake walk for TAFE. In the allotted 15 overs, the TAFE team scored a massive 173 for the loss of  four wickets. Aravind was 63 not out when stumps were drawn. The openers, Vivek Seshan and Sokkanathan amassed 55 runs in the first four overs.

On the fall of openers, spectators were yet again treated by some good batting display by Irumbidiar and Vijay Srinivas. The wicket keeping was done by Rupesh. The opponents, Empee’s batsmen were packed to the pavilion for a meager 60 runs.

Anand Vijay  and Vivek Srinivasan scalped four  and three wickets respectively to see TAFE enter the quarterfinals with this win. After ensuring the quarterfinal berth, with a reshuffled team, TAFE had the match against the mighty Ashok Leyland. The match was played after a few hours of their first match and they lost on a poor run rate.

TAFE had mustered 106 in their 15 overs. The wicket keeper Rupesh had his fireworks with bat, which was amply supported by Irumbidiar, Vijay Srinivas and Aravind. Irumbidiar went on to take two wickets later on.

At the end of the fourth over, when Ashok Leyland was on 29/2 rain interrupted and the game was stopped. It restarted after a while and then again only four overs were possible. In the eighth over played by Ashok Leyland  were able to accumulate 68 runs for two wickets. As per the organisers’ rule, Ashok Leyland was declared winner.

TAFE has now to play in quarterfinals with the team that emerges from other groups and we are sure the team will put up a strong combination in the matches to come

Cheers to the TAFE Team!
