eCIMP Trophy – 1st Quarter Awards FY 2013-14

TAFE eCIMP – Enhanced Continuous Improvement System is a platform that translates individual and collective potential, in continuous improvements in processes, products and systems through active participation.

The TAFE eCIMP quarterly trophy was presented recently by Mr. R. C. Banka, Executive Director & Deputy CEO, TAFE, to the Sales & Marketing Department in the Emerging Division and the Madurai Plant in the Active Division categories. The trophies were received by Mr. Raveen Joseph and Mr. Kumaradevan, on behalf of their respective teams.

The Magical Suggestion Box

A suggestion box that was recently kept at the entrance of the machine shop at our Sembiam premises is proving to be a good tool for idea generation!

Visible to all, the suggestion box is an initiative to bring in cost saving  ideas from the workmen. Since the day the box was introduced, suggestions have been pouring in, and also have been growing in number. Apart from cost saving ideas, a lot of suggestions have been coming in on topics related to Kaizen and other topics. 

Due to the sheer convenience of this box, everyone collectively feels that the box should  be a permanent feature in the premises.

All that the employees need to do, is put their suggestion forms into a pouch which is fitted against the box. Different pouches are kept to seggregate the different topics for which suggestions have been received. The simplicity of this box has made it a grand success!

Sembiam Team Sparkles at NCQCC – IIT Kanpur

It gives us immense pleasure in sharing with you that 20 members from Sembiam Plant, forming five Quality Control Circles, participated in the National Level QC Competition at IIT Kanpur, on Decemeber 2012, and these teams won Excellent and Distinguished Awards.

Please join us in congratulating the Sembiam QC Teams for winning accolades at this National Level Quality Convention!

Early Bird Winners of eCIMP October 2012 – Cost Saving Theme

Our theme for eCIMP in October 2012 was ‘Cost Saving’, wherein central TQM encouraged TAFE employees to participate in eCIMP by generating 3M, suggestions, QCC and CFT on “Cost Saving”. The month saw a lot of participation from employees, and the first ten who registered their suggestion or 3M were rewarded on November 16th.
