A few days ago, TAFE Head Office employee Mr. Narpat Singh shared with us proudly, an article on India Today featuring his daughter, Rupa, who is a successful horse jockey in Chennai. She is reportedly the only woman horse jockey around, and has over 2000 races and 420 wins to her credit, which is a great feat for a 30 year old.
Rupa was featured in the March issue of India Today’s ‘Simply Chennai’ section which was a special Women’s Day edition named ‘The Power Within’, and what more? – She recently received the ‘Champion Jockey’ trophy in the 2012-13 Madras Races.
